Infrared Belt Temperature Gauge - 3.0 Edition. Models: Any Belt Driven Vehicle (UTVs, ATVs, and Snowmobiles). Details: Our 3.0 Edition belt temperature gauge uses an infrared sensor to monitor the actual temperature of your drive belt. CVT belts are perfect for infrared monitoring, and our infrared sensors provide accurate and responsive readings in real-time. The 3.0 gauge's anti-glare LCD screen displays current, average, and high belt temperatures, and features multi-color LED temperature alerts. By monitoring actual belt temperature, you'll be able to more easily avoid high temperatures that can damage your belt and preserve belt life. Anti-Glare LCD Screen w/ Multi-Color LED Alerts. Tracks Current, Average, and High Temperatures.

Simple Installation - Requires a 1/2 Drill Bit. Fits All Standard Sized 2 1/16 Gauge Cups/Pods. Belt Temperature vs Clutch Air Temperature. A drive belt can heat up over 80° F in a matter of seconds.

It can also cool off that quickly as well. This level of rapid heating and cooling simply cannot be accurately detected by measuring clutch air temperature. By the time you notice the clutch air temperatures climbing, the damage has already been done to your belt.

There's a better way. Our belt temperature gauges use infrared sensors with an extremely narrow field of view to measure actual belt temperature 100x a second.

These readings are displayed in real-time, on an easy-to-read LCD screen. By knowing the exact temperature of your belt, you'll actually be able to keep an eye on the current condition of your belt and avoid damaging temperatures. Our patent pending design ensures that the sensor will hold up to the extreme heat inside your clutch covers, as well as all the mud, sand, and water you can throw at it.

Anytime your drive belt is heated over 210 °F from worn clutches, poorly tuned clutches or a hard pull through the mud, sand or snow, the rubber in the belt will begin to harden. As the belt continues to harden over time, the extra stiffness will generate more heat as it's whipped around your primary and secondary clutches. Eventually, as your belt nears the end of its life, even under normal conditions, the belt will generate so much heat it will delaminate and come apart. The forces at play when it comes apart can bend cranks, destroy clutches, or punch holes in clutch covers. It takes time, and if you are in the mud or cold, 50 miles from the truck...

It's just not fun. We've all been there. This can ALL be avoided. Since we first introduced our original belt temperature gauge, weve been able to update our design in response to the feedback from our riders and racers. Weve added average and high temperature tracking, introduced a Pro Model sensor, and made updates to our gauge design. We've incorporated waterproof connections and added a quick-release sensor. Weve also learned some game-changing things about belt life and temperature. Not only can you avoid damaging temperatures with your Razorback Technology belt temperature gauge, but you can also keep an eye on how your belt performs as it ages. Let's say you ride a RZR 1000 XP and your average temperature burning down the trail is 185° F, but over time you notice your average temperature has risen to 225° F. You've got less than 20 miles left on your belt. One hard run for a mile or 2 could be the end. If you've got time and and an extra belt, you might as well pull over and swap it out right then before you break something. If you don't have an extra belt and it's 20 miles to the truck, then you should probably slow way down and limp it back or you're going to run into trouble. What weve seen in our research is that when a belt temperatures average has increased 40-50° F, it is on its way out. Perhaps the best thing to do would be to pull over and swap it out before your belt blows and wrecks a clutch, punches a hole in the cover, or bends a crank. We are constantly gathering more data and our customers are helping us acquire more and more. This graph shows some of the temperature data that has recently been shared on our website: RazorbackUSA. Every Razorback Technology gauge is made from steel and aluminum, not plastic. We engineer and assemble each gauge in-house, so we can ensure assembly is precise and quality is top-notch. Feel free to message us or give us a call with any questions you may have. We'd love to give you all the information you need to decide if a Razorback Technology belt temp gauge is right for you.
